What does NICEIC accreditation mean?

Intersafe holds multiple accreditations, one of which is a NICEIC Approved Contractor – but what does that actually mean?

NICEIC is the National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contractors.

Founded in 1956, NICEIC was established in order to champion electrical safety and offers a standard which enables registered contractors to be recognised for their highest safety standards.

Electrical contractors registered with NICEIC are assessed on a regular basis to ensure high standards and their work is checked against the IET Wiring Regulations as well as other standards. Once approved, electrical contractors can use the NICEIC Approved Contractor logo and are listed on the NICEIC website, which is free to search.

Choosing a registered contractor for electrical work helps the duty holder evidence the steps they have taken to meet their obligations under the Electricity at Work (1989) Regulations.

Visit www.niceic.com to search for an electrical contractor to ensure they are listed.
