Essential Electrical Testing specialist, Intersafe, is one of the latest group of successful companies to join the Contractors Health & Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS).
CHAS is established as the market leader for Health and Safety pre-qualification in the UK, and has changed the way some buyers have undertaken Health & Safety competency checks on UK contractors.
The aim of the scheme is to save time and resources by avoiding unnecessary duplication in the first stage of competence assessment.
Full details of all accredited companies, including Intersafe, are held on the CHAS database which is accessible to registered users only via a website. Non registered companies are invited to telephone CHAS to confirm accreditation.
Participating in the CHAS scheme benefits our customers by:
- Showing compliance with important parts of health and safety law (the core criteria described in the CDM regulations).
- Intersafe is approved to work for all of CHAS’ buyers.
- Inconsistencies are reduced where some suppliers may be judged compliant by one buyer but not another.
- CHAS gives guidance on any weaknesses in a supplier’s safety management, including how they can improve.
