 Top class service from start to finish
With operations in 46 countries and over 200 production sites, Monier is the leading worldwide supplier of pitched roofing materials. It is committed to providing a safe and healthy work environment for its stakeholders and conducting its worldwide businesses in a safe manner. Earlier this year its Crawley site, which comprises offices, workshops and labs, was due for PAT testing.
Monier's Site Services and Facilities Coordinator, Martin Cooper, approached a number of companies for quotations, one of which being Intersafe. Intersafe's Sales and Marketing Manager, Angus Macrae, went to visit Martin in person to discuss his requirements and provide a quote for the work.
Mr Cooper said: "It was clear from the outset that Intersafe was different from other PAT testing companies. The website showed that it offered its own thermal imaging service, something that other firms tend to outsource, and that it is trusted by huge household names such as Sainsbury's and Motorola to carry out their Electrical Testing. I was impressed that the quotations, which were sent to me very quickly, stood out from the crowd and were cheaper than the other companies I had approached."

One of Intersafe's expert testers, Andrew Ditchfield, arrived on site on September 1 to test nearly 2,000 items. Mr Cooper said: "I was impressed straight away when he turned up dressed smartly and was very polite. He had his risk and method statements with him, along with a copy of our safety procedure, which he had read and signed already. He took our safety procedures very seriously and informed us every time he arrived or left site, which is important to us as a health and safety conscious organisation. He worked around our staff to carry out the testing with minimal impact to their working days, including coming in the evenings or during their lunch breaks.
"Andrew was punctual, informative and generally very helpful and knowledgeable. His safety knowledge was excellent and he adhered strictly to our Health and Safety Policy, which is something we take very seriously at Monier."
After just eight days Intersafe had tested 592 items for Monier UK and 1313 items for Monier Technical Centres, plus three microwaves.
Intersafe was flexible and had no problem with providing Monier with two separate invoices - one for work on the first floor and one for work on the ground floor, workshops and labs.
